Privacy Policy

Account details. Your email address and password (stored hashed by our sign-in provider), plus what you enter during setup: your name, handle, main platform and birthday.

Your content. The audio track of videos you choose to clip, the transcript we make from it, the clips, captions, titles and projects you create, files you add to your asset library, and posts you schedule.

Connected accounts. If you connect YouTube or Instagram: the account’s ID, name, handle and picture, access tokens (encrypted before we store them), the videos you ask us to publish, and view, like and comment counts for those posts.

Usage and technical data. Basic records needed to run the service, such as which AI features you used and when, and standard server logs (IP address, browser type, errors).

Many tools, such as editing, background removal and audio clean-up, run entirely in your browser. Files used only by those tools never leave your device. When you clip a video, only its audio is uploaded for transcription, not the video itself.

• To run your account and the features you ask for: transcribing, picking clips, writing titles and captions, generating voices and images, and saving your work.
• To publish and schedule posts to accounts you connect, and show you their stats.
• To keep the service secure, prevent abuse and fix problems.
• To contact you about your account or important changes.

We don’t sell your personal information, we don’t use it for advertising, and we don’t let the AI providers below train their models on your content where they offer that choice to us.

Only the services needed to run Cutdown, each for the job listed:

• Supabase: account sign-in, database and file storage.
• Vercel: hosting the website.
• Deepgram: turning your video’s audio into a transcript.
• Anthropic: reading transcripts to choose clips and write titles and captions.
• OpenAI, ElevenLabs and Replicate: AI voices, images and video, only when you use those tools.
• Google (YouTube) and Meta (Instagram): publishing and stats, only for accounts you connect.

We may also share information if the law requires it, to protect people’s safety, or as part of a sale or merger of the business (you’d be told first).

Cutdown uses YouTube API Services to upload videos to your channel, schedule them and read their view, like and comment counts. By connecting YouTube you agree to the YouTube Terms of Service, and Google’s handling of your data is covered by the Google Privacy Policy.

We ask Google for two permissions: uploading videos, and reading your channel and videos. We use them only to do what you ask in Cutdown. We don’t use data from Google for ads, we don’t sell it, and people can’t read it except when needed for security, to follow the law, or with your permission. Our use of information received from Google APIs follows the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

You can disconnect YouTube in Cutdown at any time (Social accounts → Disconnect), which deletes the stored tokens. You can also remove our access from your Google security settings. Stored YouTube data is deleted within 30 days of disconnecting or on request.

If you connect an Instagram Business or Creator account, we use Meta’s Instagram API to publish the Reels you schedule and read their basic stats. You can disconnect in Cutdown at any time, or remove Cutdown under Settings → Apps and websites in Instagram. Meta’s own handling of your data is covered by the Instagram Privacy Policy.

We keep your account and content while your account is open. When you delete your account, we delete your personal information and content within 30 days, except where we must keep something longer by law.

You can see and change your profile in the app, delete projects and files at any time, and disconnect social accounts. You can also ask us to send you a copy of your data, correct it, or delete everything. See how to delete your data, or email support@cutdown.ai. We reply within 30 days.

Depending on where you live (for example California, the EU or the UK), you may have extra rights under local law. We honor them for everyone.

Data is sent over HTTPS. Access to your records is limited to your own account by database rules, and connected-account tokens are encrypted before storage. No system is perfectly secure, so please use a strong, unique password.

Cutdown is not for children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect their information. If you think a child has signed up, email us and we’ll delete the account.

We use your browser’s storage to keep you signed in and remember your settings. We don’t use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.
